Hi, I’m Aren.
I’m the founder and developer behind Korbnet AB, based in Stockholm and currently studying for a Master’s in Computer Science at KTH.
Background
I moved to Sweden from Albania in 2017, but my curiosity for technology started much earlier.
As a kid, I had a habit of taking toys apart just to understand what was happening inside them. Toy cars were especially interesting. I wanted to know how a small electric motor could turn the wheels, how batteries made everything move, and what would happen if I connected things differently. A fair number of toys were sacrificed in the process.
Later, my dad brought home an Acer laptop. At first, like most kids, I mainly wanted to play games on it. Eventually the same curiosity came back. I wanted to understand how the things on the screen were actually made. Taking the laptop apart was obviously not a great option, so for a while I was left wondering until I found Scratch from MIT. I still remember the cat. It was my first real introduction to giving a computer instructions and seeing how logic, events and simple building blocks could turn into something interactive.
After moving to Sweden, I started exploring programming more seriously. YouTube became one of my first teachers. I began with basic HTML and small experiments. I still remember following a tutorial where the instructor kept opening localhost:3000. I had written the same code, saved the file and kept visiting the same address, wondering why absolutely nothing appeared. A few tutorials later, I finally understood what I was missing.
From there I kept building small hobby projects and games. Most of them were far too early and messy for GitHub, and I genuinely wish I had saved more of them. GitHub came later.
At NTI Gymnasiet, I chose the Technology Programme with an IT focus. That was where programming became much more than a curiosity. I could finally study it properly, build larger projects and understand more of what was happening behind the things I had been experimenting with for years.
From there, the path continued to KTH, my own projects, Korbnet, client work, my bachelor’s thesis, Ericsson R&D, and eventually Korbnet AB.
How Korbnet developed
My personal projects began in 2021 as a way to learn by building real things.
Korbnet became my independent business in late 2022. In early 2026, it evolved into Korbnet AB, the company through which I now run my independent product and client work.
How I work
I usually start by understanding the actual workflow, the people using it and what needs to improve.
From there, I try to build the clearest practical solution, whether that means a focused website, an operational platform, an AI-assisted workflow or an internal product.
I like working across the full problem rather than treating design, development and the business context as completely separate things.
Journey so far
- Since 2021
Personal projects
I began building personal products and learning through hands-on development.
- Late 2022
Korbnet
Korbnet became my independent business and the identity behind my early client and product work.
- Early 2026
Korbnet AB
Korbnet evolved into the current limited company behind my independent product and client work.
- 2026
Bachelor’s Thesis, KTH
Designed, implemented and evaluated Page Guide, an LLM-based contextual UI explanation assistant for a financial operations platform. I independently connected with Mrava.ai and carried out the thesis with the company as the external project partner.
- June – August 2026
R&D Intern, Ericsson
Worked on internal product and workflow tooling for product-oriented stakeholders. I redesigned and improved an existing portal, added AI-assisted information retrieval, developed workflow analysis for identifying bottlenecks and stale work, and designed a time-based visualisation of how work moved from creation toward release. The work was shaped through regular feedback from internal users and stakeholders.
- Current
Master’s in Computer Science at KTH
Continuing my studies alongside Korbnet AB, independent product development and client work.
Outside work
Outside development and studies, I train regularly and play volleyball for a team. I also enjoy chess and computer games, especially things where there is a system to understand, something to improve, or another level to get better at over time.
